CollegeJournal.com Teams Up with Lunch-Money.com to Offer College Calculators Online
June 6, 2005
Each year, college-bound students grapple with many of the same questions:
- "How much will college cost me?"
- "Is a college degree really worth the cost?"
- "Do I need to get a job to help cover expenses beyond tuition and rent?"
- "Can I get my grades up to get into my dream school?"
To help answer these and other questions, CollegeJournal.com—The Wall Street Journal’s
guide for career-minded college students—has partnered with Lunch-Money.com—a one-stop
scholarship and college admissions resource—to incorporate four new college calculators into
its online offerings. These interactive tools are designed to help students and parents with a variety
of topics, from making sense of financial-aid packages to budgeting for annual expenses. These interactive
tools provide results that are customized for each user. They include:
- Financial Aid Award Evaluator—Compare award packages from colleges side-by-side, and
gain a better understanding of the "real" cost of college.
- Value of College Calculator—Take a top-level look at the economics of a college education
and learn how a degree can pay for itself during a student’s lifetime.
- College Expense Calculator—Lay out a budget for common college expenses, and find out just
how much college may cost beyond tuition, room and board.
- Grade Point Average (GPA) Calculator—Play the "what-if" game, running through various scenarios
to find out the impact of classes on a student’s GPA.
"We are happy to partner with CollegeJournal.com and bring our best-of-breed calculators to one of the premier sites for college-bound students," said Mark Rothbaum, president of Lunch-Money.com.
