    Tips for Choosing You College

After reading your message about stressing out because you do not know what to look for when choosing your college i thought i would share these tips i have gathered from various sources.

Thinsg you should look for when choosing your college:

     In-state or out of state

    Weather

    Cost

Number of students at the school

     Availability of funding

    Tuition fees

    Reputation

What is your sports coach like if you are an athlete

Can you get a sport scholarship

What is the budget of your team

    Sports facilities

Quality of residence hall or dormitory

Food available in the dining hall

Other fast food restaurants on campus

     Are there shops near by

    Fraternities or sororities

    On-campus social events

    Homecoming

    Reputation of faculty and programs

    Job availability

    Religious affiliation

Transport availability on and off campus

Selection of majors to choose from

    Exchange opportunities

    Student services

    City or country

What to look for when touring the college campus:

    New buildings on campus

    Cleanliness of dining halls

Size and quality of dorm rooms

Are the exteriors of the building clean and well maintained

What are the campus grounds like

How quiet or noisy are the dorms

    Are the residence halls secured

Is the campus secure and are the police visible? Do they conduct regular patrols?

What is the health center like

Do they always have a nurse or doctor on call

How good is the lighting around campus at night time

Is there a lot of life on campus

Are the class sizes big or small

    Sporting facilities

    How much parking is there

What are their computers like? Are they up to date with the latest technology?

The biggest thing i have found is that you need to have a plan. follow your plan and it willl be easier. These tips came from various sites including collegboard.com, collegehelpguide.com, collegeprowler.com and a few other well known sites.

Good luck and don't stress out!
