What Makes Us Unique

Baylor University is a private, medium-sized Christian liberal arts institution. Baylor features one of the best core curriculums in the country, small class sizes (the average is 29), more than 150 undergraduate majors, more than 300 student activities, and one of the most beautiful campuses in the country. Unique majors such as forensic science, sports sponsorship and sales, and medical humanities attract a broad range of students who also find professors willing to cultivate relationships waiting for them in class. Nationally-ranked programs can be found in business, engineering, speech pathology, and nursing, just to name a few. Baylor’s study abroad program is top-tier and all students are encouraged to participate. For fun, Baylor has it all: service, music, political, spiritual, cultural, academic, and Greek organizations. Sports enthusiasts enjoy Division I athletics (Baylor is the only private school in the Big XII Conference) and one of the best intramural programs in the nation. Located in Waco, Texas (200,000 metropolitan), students get the benefits of a big city without the traffic; there are numerous dining and shopping options, a multitude of community activities and events, not to mention a short drive to Dallas or Austin (90 miles north, 90 miles south, respectively).
