Common Tasks

1.Enforce safety rules and regulations.

11.Explain and demonstrate work tasks to new workers, or assign workers to more experienced workers for further training.
12.Prepare, compile, and submit reports on work activities, operations, production, and work-related accidents.
13.Recommend or implement personnel actions such as employee selection, evaluation, and rewards or disciplinary actions.
14.Requisition needed personnel, supplies, equipment, parts, or repair services.
15.Plan and establish transportation routes.
16.Inspect or test materials, stock, vehicles, equipment, and facilities to ensure that they are safe, free of defects, and meet specifications.
17.Compute and estimate cash, payroll, transportation, personnel, and storage requirements.
18.Dispatch personnel and vehicles in respond to telephone or radio reports of emergencies.
19.Perform or schedule repairs and preventive maintenance of vehicles and other equipment.
20.Examine, measure, and weigh cargo or materials to determine specific handling requirements.
21.Provide workers with assistance in performing tasks such as coupling railroad cars or loading vehicles.
22.Drive vehicles or operate machines or equipment to complete work assignments or to assist workers.
