What Makes Our School Unique

The University of West Georgia’s Richards College of Business was endowed with a gift from the Richards family to support continued excellence in education. This support has been instrumental in our ability to provide students with an educational setting where positive learning experiences prepare them for future positions of responsibility and ethical leadership in society.

The RCOB academic business programs at both the graduate and undergraduate levels maintain the highest level of excellence with their accreditation by AACSB International, a distinction achieved by fewer than fifteen percent of business schools worldwide. In addition, the RCOB is one of only approximately four percent of schools with separate AACSB accreditation for our accounting program.

According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, the RCOB ranks 5th in area business schools by enrollment. RCOB faculty are recognized as among leading teachers and researchers in the country. Recent awards include recognition by the Decision Sciences Institute for one of the three most innovative courses in the United States and induction of faculty into Academic Who's Who. RCOB faculty have been named Academy of Economics and Finance Teaching Fellow and Georgia Business Education Teacher of the Year.

Our students represent diverse cultural, social, and economic groups, and, consistent with the university-wide vision, the faculty and staff of the RCOB are committed to providing them with educational excellence in a personal environment. This commitment to academic excellence and the close interaction with faculty and staff provide students with a high quality business education at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

We are dedicated to preparing leaders who are able to make sound business decisions, participate actively in global economies, respond to technological changes, communicate effectively, and affirm a core array of values and ethical practices.
